The Yáahl, Gúud,Tsai Hatori is designed to be worn over a simple snug garment. Its function is to layer the story of the Yáahl X̱yáalas Raven Dancing over your landscape, creating an ephemeral relationship in space and time. The lapels are designed to create a column of equal space between them; long, lean, elegant.
Wear this piece for coffee, to the beach or opera. Light, washable and crease resistant, it is a perfect piece to take with you wherever you go. Please pick the one colour as an accent to your Hatori. The Hatori is mostly hlG̱áhl/black and G̱adáang/white but the pop of colour will be yours.
Xyáahl áwyaa hlaa! Dance for all you’re worth!

The story is captured in dye layers on a large piece of paper until a complete canvas is built. First, hlG̱áhl/black paper is painted and left to dry. The Yáahl Raven image is then screened onto the hlG̱áhl/black in a clear paste, resisting the black dye. The blank hatori is laid out flat on top of the painting which is then wrapped around the front and back to present a continuous landscape beyond hem and seam. Contrast dots are inserted to add a splash of fun, much like the temperament of Yáahl itself. Once the papers are pinned in place and heat set, the hatori is unwrapped. Yáahl is G̱adáang white with etchings of black brush strokes remaining as if it were carved out of wood.
The unwrapping of the hatori always feels like a birthday: anticipation, glee, wonder. The dyes on paper look nothing like the heat pressed results and there are always unexpected surprises. Imperfection is celebrated. Rolls ends of curtain sheers never looked so good and would do nothing for the landfill. Wash, wear, dance.
